Privacy policy
The public reader and MCP server work without an account. Here is what reaches us when you use them, and how the private editorial desk differs.
Who operates this service
Daniel Crouse, an individual, operates News That Doesn’t Suck under the DontSuckMedia publishing name. Questions and requests go to dan@thelumberoutletgroup.com. This policy covers the website and our public MCP endpoint.
Public pages
Your browser sends ordinary connection information, including an IP address, requested URL and browser headers, so our hosting provider and server can deliver the page. Public reader pages do not set tracking cookies, use advertising trackers or load third-party analytics. Fonts and reader assets are served from this site.
Public MCP requests
An AI client sends the tool name, search terms and record identifiers you choose to use, together with connection and protocol metadata. These inputs are processed to return public explainers and evidence. The MCP application does not persist request bodies, create user accounts or maintain user sessions. Do not include sensitive personal information in a search. Your AI provider controls the conversation and its own retention under its policies; connecting this server does not give us your full chat history.
Operational records
Routine web access logging is disabled in our site’s reverse proxy. Critical errors and hosting or security systems may still produce operational records, including connection information. We use those records to operate and protect the service. This policy does not promise that the hosting provider keeps no logs.
Support correspondence
If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you include. We use that information to answer the request, investigate problems and evaluate corrections. Email providers process that correspondence. We do not sell personal information or use support messages for advertising.
Private editorial desk
The restricted private editorial desk is a separate workflow for authorized editors. It uses an essential browser cookie and session cookie, text-message authentication and stored authentication records. Editor sessions last up to 12 hours. Draft directions and review decisions are retained as editorial records. Requested calls use the existing QE voice service and its conversation records. These private records and credentials are not exposed through the public MCP server.
Retention and requests
Public MCP inputs are processed without an application request archive. Support messages, editorial records and infrastructure records do not currently have a single fixed deletion schedule. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information you provided. We evaluate what we can identify and remove, including any records needed for security, resolving a dispute or legal obligations, and explain the outcome.
Links and changes
Original-source links lead to other sites with their own policies. This policy may change as the service changes; the update date appears here. Material new data collection will be described before it is introduced.
