Three named status entries from one NPS update. The cards show access categories, not a route, ordered itinerary or safety score.

NPS’s November 1 update lists Beatty Cut Off Road and Cottonwood/Marble Roads closed for flooding. North Highway is under a debris caution, whereas our earlier account listed it closed. Neither category establishes safe passage. Check the park’s current status before choosing a route. [1] [2] [3] [5]

The reporting question: Which Death Valley roads are closed after flooding?

Two different closures

The park’s road-status update is timed 3:33 p.m. Pacific on November 1. It lists the paved Beatty Cut Off Road and unpaved Cottonwood/Marble Roads closed for flooding. Our retained October 24 account already listed Beatty closed. Without an intervening reopening record, this report cannot call it a new closure event or date when repairs will finish. [1] [2] [5]

A caution has a different meaning

North Highway is now listed under caution for flood debris; our retained October 24 account listed it closed. That is a change in the reported category, not a verified time of reopening or a finding of safe passage. Neither a closed nor a caution category establishes that a route is safe. The park says conditions can change quickly. [3] [4] [5]

Check the exact road before travel

Open the NPS conditions page and review the named roads and current status map before setting an itinerary. The listed unpaved closures apply to all motorized vehicles, including motorcycles. No reopening time or independently inspected alternative route is established in this report. [1] [2] [4]

Does not establish an intervening reopening, physical road-change time or safe passage. Earlier source timestamps and uncertainties remain attached to the retained story.

What remains open.

  • No opening time, post-update assessment or independently verified alternate route.
  • Full publisher browser/help/photo/mobile checks and separate exact-source review remain pending.
  • No intervening reopening record for Beatty Cut Off or verified timing of North Highway’s physical condition change; the comparison establishes listed categories only.

An updated original record, correction or evidence outside the stated scope would reopen the affected claims and visual.
