The October 29 UN account relays FAO’s current hunger warning. It separately attributes a March–June 2027 projection to WFP. Without matched underlying periods and methods, their difference is not a measured increase we can calculate. [1] [3]

FAO describes kits with seeds and animals to support household food production and income. WFP reports assistance to 2.6 million people during 2026. Neither account establishes that every person counted as hungry has received help. [2] [3]
A funding need is not delivered food
WFP’s $78 million request is for sustaining operations through March, according to UN News. It is not an amount already delivered.
