One PAC’s estimated advertising by House district, not all spending. MI-07 combines support for Lawrence and opposition to Barrett; MI-10 supports Hines and MI-04 supports McCann. Different media do not imply equal reach. The form’s $9,000 in Senate entries is excluded.

For Michigan Action Fund’s new November 1 filing lists an estimated $61,000 for October 31 advertising in Michigan’s 4th, 7th and 10th House districts. These are one outside committee’s estimated costs or obligations—not candidate receipts, verified cash payments or a measure of votes. [1] [5] [7]

The reporting question: Who is behind this newly disclosed Michigan House advertising—and how much is only estimated?

Three House races, one committee

The filing assigns $21,000 to District 7: $19,500 supporting William Lawrence and $1,500 opposing Tom Barrett. It lists another $20,000 each in connected-TV advertising supporting Christina Hines in District 10 and Sean McCann in District 4. The digital and connected-TV amounts share an October 31 transaction date; they do not measure equal audiences. [2] [3] [4] [7]

Follow the money without double-counting

The House entries name AL Media LLC for $53,500 and Agency for Civic Engagement for $7,500. Two separate Senate entries add $9,000, bringing the whole form to $70,000. Those Senate amounts are excluded from this House comparison. The cumulative year-to-date fields measure something different and are not added again. [8] [5] [6]

An estimate is not a paid invoice

Each House purpose field identifies an estimate. The dates and amounts are the committee’s disclosure, not an independent audit of payment, ad delivery or influence. Its signed certification of independence is likewise the filer’s statement. We have not established the messages, audience reached or any effect on voting. [7] [9]

The public choice remains separate

The state’s General list verifies the four named House candidates and districts. This report is not a complete candidate or policy comparison; qualified write-ins remain a separate reconciliation gap. The House and Senate write federal laws, subject to checks including a presidential veto. These three House seats carry that public responsibility, whatever one committee spends. Read the original form’s individual items and support/opposition boxes before comparing another disclosure. [10] [11] [5]

What remains open.

  • Full current qualified-write-in reconciliation remains incomplete; no existing roster hold is cleared. This one-committee disclosure does not claim complete candidate coverage or compare candidates’ policies.
  • No original advertisement, placement log, invoice or bank records were available in this bounded inquiry; the committee’s amounts and independence remain attributed.
  • No donor-source tracing, all-committee/race census, audience measurement, persuasion, turnout, majority forecast or election outcome is established.
  • Separate exact-case source review and publisher browser, help, photo, rendered and mobile gates remain pending. Audience engagement and comprehension are unmeasured.

An amendment, documented corrected expense, conflicting candidate identity or contrary original transaction record would reopen the relevant claim.
