A new October 31 filing by Fighting for Michigan PAC reports $45,000 in digital ads supporting Abdul El-Sayed and $30,000 opposing Mike Rogers. Both entries concern October 30 activity. This is one outside committee’s reported spending or obligations, not money received by either candidate or a measure of votes. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Still open: Full current field including qualified write-ins is not yet reconciled through permitted production originals. This case remains held outside a complete handoff, even though the two named candidates are on the captured official printed list. All open questions ↓

The reporting question: What does one new Michigan PAC filing show about who is paying for campaign messages?

Follow one report, not the whole race

The new F24 names Punch Group LLC as the payee for both entries. Its two amounts add to $75,000. The public disclosure date is October 31; the entries say the ads were distributed, and the expenses disbursed or obligated, October 30. Adding the form’s cumulative year-to-date figures would count a different measure. [1] [2] [3] [4]

A certified claim has a limit

The committee signs a certification that the spending was independent of candidates and authorized committees. That is the filer’s statement, not an NTDS finding about coordination. The form does not establish the ads’ wording, how many people saw them, whether the amounts cleared a bank, or any effect on votes. [5] [2] [3]

Keep spending separate from public power

The state prints six candidates for this six-year Senate seat: El-Sayed, Rogers, Lydia Christensen, Tim Long, Douglas P. Marsh and Walter P. Kristy. Separate write-in reconciliation remains incomplete in this draft. Congress consists of the House and Senate; Cabinet nominees need Senate approval, and the president can veto congressional legislation. One filing is not a forecast of that public choice. [6] [7]

Inspect the original entries

Read page1 of the actual filing to distinguish the Support and Oppose boxes and the two transaction dates from the receipt date. Compare only matching measures and periods in any later filing. No donor identity, ad impact, candidate cash receipt or complete race-spending total is inferred here. [1] [2] [3] [4]

What remains open.

  • Full current field including qualified write-ins is not yet reconciled through permitted production originals. This case remains held outside a complete handoff, even though the two named candidates are on the captured official printed list.
  • No all-committee census, donor-level funding trace, message content, actual reach, cleared-payment audit or vote effect.
  • This isolated disclosure does not close the separate matched candidate-policy question or inherit any previous review.
  • Separate exact-source and publisher photo/help/rendered/mobile checks pending.
  • The inspected Senate glossary has an apparent pocket-veto error in its enacted-legislation definition. It is not used as an enactment guide; the institutional paragraph was narrowed and newly supported by captured USAGov. Original rejected-for-this-purpose bytes retained.

A new or amended filing, contrary transaction record, reconciled official field or updated public record would reopen this account.
